Recent Particulars Come to Light About the Discovery of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains
Recent details have emerged concerning the untimely deaths of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were found at their residence home on Sunday.
The Alarm
As detailed in an account referencing a family associate, a therapist scheduled for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after being unable to gain access the residence. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.
When she went into the residence, Romy came upon her father's body. Accounts indicate she then fled the house in anguish, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. A companion who had gone with her then dialed 911. Subsequently, paramedics found Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Criminal Proceedings
Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently in custody and is ineligible for bail.
Disputed Reports
The person close to the family challenged several earlier details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a detached unit on the estate, she did not name him as a potential suspect at that juncture.
Furthermore refuted circulated suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "concerned" about Nick's behavior in the preceding period. The source claimed the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This correction also extends to reports of alleged "unpredictable" behavior by Nick at a party thrown by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the tragedy. Although the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they asserted that claims of a "heated argument" between the two were not correct.
Investigation Details
According to law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Some accounts indicated the condition of their bodies implied they had been dead for a period of time.
Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the residence. He was scheduled to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not been medically cleared and would be unable to attend until Wednesday or later.
