Ex- Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a former doctor now faces charges for committing assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were patients.
Details of the Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of sexual offences – including acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Police Inquiry
The charges come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
Breakdown of Charges
Prosecutors outline the 45 charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
